Chichester Cormorants Swim School
The Chichester Cormorants Swim School is an independent ‘Learn to Swim’ facility.
We run in conjunction with the Southern Water Learn to Swim scheme and implement the Amateur Swimming Associations National Swimming Plan.
Our aim is to reach children from 5-12 years of age how to swim, improve their water skills and the technical aspects of their strokes, so that a child may achieve a high level of competency. We attempt to create a fun and exciting atmosphere that in turn facilitates the child’s learning process.

Child Protection Policy
The Swim School implements the A.S.A. guidelines for Child Protection. All instructors and helpers are required to register with the A.S.A. National Register of Club Coaches and Helpers, which includes police checks into criminal records.
If you wish to see a copy of the A.S.A. guidelines they will be made available to you on the British Swimming web site.
Lessons are half an hour long.
Swimmers are divided into groups according to their ability so that they may work to an appropriate standard. Each child is monitored carefully and when he/she has consistently and satisfactorily completed the criteria of the A.S.A. National swimming Plan level will be promoted to the next assessment level which may not necessarily be within the same session time.
Joining the Cormorants’ Swim School
Potential new members will be invited to attend a ‘trial swim,’ where their swimming competency will be assessed. This is to enable us to place a child within an appropriate group, prior to the course of swimming lessons.
